Bouchon Family Wines Vigno Carignan 2021

Bouchon Family Wines Vigno Carignan 2021 comes from old Carignan vines planted in goblet (bush vines) in the secano interior of Cauquenes, grown without irrigation on ancient clay-dominant granitic soils. The 2021 vintage presents a balanced profile, accomplished maturity, and preserved acidity, reflecting a favorable temperate season. Winemaking prioritizes measured extraction and respect for the fruit, followed by 12 months of aging in foudres and 1 year of bottle refinement. The Bouchon saga began in 1887 with the arrival of Émile Bouchon in Chile. The family, established in the Colchagua region and later in the Maule region in 1977, perpetuates this history by breathing new life into old Maule grape varieties, such as País, rehabilitating centuries-old winemaking techniques, and paying close attention to the terroir. With three vineyards in Maule, the Bouchons adopt an organic approach, creating singular wines from vines grown without irrigation on ancient granitic soils.

On the nose, ripe black fruits and mineral nuances. On the palate, long and juicy, with fine tannins and a beautiful natural acidity. It pairs well with a roasted leg of lamb with herbs or a grilled rib of beef with red wine sauce. Serve between 16 and 18°C. Aging potential of 10 years and more.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0589/8797/0696/files/J._Bouchon_Family_Wines_Vigno_Carignan_2021.webp?v=1782996247
