REGION

Languedoc-Roussillon

France

Languedoc-Roussillon is one of France's largest wine-growing regions, situated on the border with Spain. Its vast size is matched by a remarkable diversity of soils and terroirs, all bathed in a warm, sunny Mediterranean climate that is particularly favorable to vine-growing. This richness is also reflected in the grape varieties grown, ranging from Cabernet Sauvignon to Carignan for the reds, or Grenache Blanc to Bourboulenc for the whites, but Roussillon in particular is also distinguished by a historic and deeply local specialty: vins doux naturels (VDN). Made from grape varieties such as Grenache, Macabeu or Muscat, these wines are mutated with alcohol during fermentation to retain some of their natural sugars. Emblematic appellations such as Banyuls, Maury, Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes offer an incredible range of styles, from the fruitiest to the most oxidative, perfect as aperitifs or with cheeses and desserts.

Fresh-Faced Sweet Wine with Mediterranean Soul

Cuvée Adrien Cazes 2023 is vibrant and elegant—think candied lemon, golden apple, and white peach, with hints of almond and sea breeze. The sweetness is generous, but never cloying. Perfect chilled as an aperitif or with dessert.

Elegant and versatile dessert wine

I served this with a crème brûlée and it was a match made in heaven. The silky texture and subtle mineral notes lifted the flavors beautifully. Not overly sweet, which made it very enjoyable. Definitely good value for money.

Delightfully fresh and naturally sweet

This Banyuls Blanc was a fantastic discovery. The natural sweetness is perfectly balanced by bright acidity, making it rich but never cloying. I loved the honey and citrus notes—ideal for sipping slowly or pairing with fruit desserts.
