DESCRIPTION
The Évigneaux is made with a Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault blend. The Syrah vineyards are planted in the south of the appellation, where they benefit from the sun and the heat to reach the ideal ripeness. The Grenache vines are found in the north of this geographical zone, where the cool climate produces aromatic grapes. The bouquet is filled with blackcurrant, raspberry and vanilla extract. The palate is fleshy, meaty, which intensifies the long finish. The tannins are robust and integrate nicely, but would probably benefit from ageing 3-5 years in order to deliver their full potential. This wine pairs nicely with duck, an oven roasted leg of lamb, or lentils.

REGION
Rhône
France

The Rhône Valley is a historic cradle of French winemaking, stretching from Lyon to Provence and home to over 5,000 estates. In the north, steep hillsides yield intensely expressive Syrahs (Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage) and outstanding whites like Condrieu, made from Viognier. Further south, the diversity of soils—rolled pebbles, sand, and slopes—gives rise to powerful, generous reds (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas) based on Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah. A gastronomic heartland, the region offers endless unforgettable food and wine pairings.
