DESCRIPTION
Sourced from the hillsides of Orschwiller and Rorschwihr, this Crémant draws its freshness from the estate's Gneiss and clay-limestone soils, benefiting from the AB and Demeter certified biodynamic practices of Frères Engel. This 2022 vintage is crafted from a harmonious blend of Pinots (Blanc/Gris/Auxerrois), cultivated with particular care to guarantee the purity and liveliness essential for the creation of a great sparkling wine.
This Crémant is vinified according to the traditional method, with a second fermentation in the bottle. It benefits from prolonged aging of 24 months on laths, a resting period exceeding minimum requirements that allows the bubbles to refine to the maximum and the aging notes to develop subtly. The Extra-Brut dosage (low in sugar) is the expression of a style seeking straightness and the authenticity of the fruit.
Upon tasting, it offers a delicate effervescence and great freshness. The nose is expressive, dominated by aromas of white fruits (pear, apple) and citrus, highlighted by fine brioche nuances due to the aging. On the palate, the attack is frank and tangy. It is a balanced and elegant Crémant, ideal for the aperitif, fruity desserts, or to accompany an entire fish-based meal.
REGION
Alsace
France
Alsace is a wine region with strong Franco-Germanic influences located in the North-East of France. It is distinguished from other French regions by its significant production of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, often associated with German wines. If you are a white wine enthusiast, it is very likely that you have tasted wines from Alsace; the Alsatian vineyard is the largest producer of white wines, due to its dry climate, but global warming signals a greater production of Pinot Noir in the region.
