The Esprit from Maucoil is a labour of love, produced with the 13 grape varieties of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Clairette, Bourboulenc, etc. This blend is produced with the oldest vines in the vineyard (70 years old on average) and from only the most exceptional vintages.
The bouquet’s aromas are quite intense. Notes of kirsch and strawberry jam are elevated by a hint of toast, giving the wine its complexity. On the palate, the tannins are polished and a cool taste highlights the black fruit and shrubland flavours. Ample and rich, this wine has an exceptional ageing potential (up to 15 years depending on the vintage). This wine pairs well with steak with a peppercorn sauce, couscous, or shrimp skewers.

France
The Rhône Valley is a historic cradle of French winemaking, stretching from Lyon to Provence and home to over 5,000 estates. In the north, steep hillsides yield intensely expressive Syrahs (Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage) and outstanding whites like Condrieu, made from Viognier. Further south, the diversity of soils—rolled pebbles, sand, and slopes—gives rise to powerful, generous reds (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas) based on Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah. A gastronomic heartland, the region offers endless unforgettable food and wine pairings.
Ce Châteauneuf-du-Pape Esprit 2013 en Magnum se marie idéalement avec des viandes rouges comme un gigot d'agneau rôti ou une côte de bœuf, mais aussi des plats de gibier comme du cerf ou du sanglier.
A mature Southern Rhône with soul. The 2013 vintage has softened beautifully — offering depth, balance, and value few aged magnums can match.
This 2013 Esprit shows how gracefully Châteauneuf-du-Pape can age. Earthy spice, dried cherry, and tobacco notes in a velvety texture — and the magnum size amplifies the elegance.

What an evolution! The wine is mellow, smooth, with notes of leather and black olive.
