Escale Rosé

Provence set the standard. The rest of the world raised it.

For decades, rosé had one address: Provence. Pale, dry, delicate, mineral — the Provençal model became the global benchmark, imitated everywhere, rarely matched.

But the world of wine doesn't stop at the hills of Les Alpilles.

At Vinodelice, we believe the best rosés aren't always where you expect them. A Malbec pressed directly in Chile's Colchagua Valley. A Pinotage vinified as rosé in the vineyards of Stellenbosch, South Africa. A Nerello Mascalese from the volcanic slopes of Etna in Sicily. Each one tells a story of place, craft and vision — and none of them has anything to envy their Provençal cousins.

Our world rosé selection is an invitation to explore rosé differently. No hierarchy, no dogma — just the curiosity to discover what each terroir can put in a glass.

Why world rosé deserves your attention

Rosé is no longer a second-tier wine. Long relegated to beach wine or summer aperitif status, rosé has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades. The most serious producers are taking it seriously. The most demanding wine lovers have made it a permanent fixture in their cellars.

Every terroir expresses something unique. That's the great lesson we've drawn from years of tasting and selecting: a South African Pinotage rosé resembles nothing else. A high-altitude Chilean rosé has a freshness and minerality you won't find anywhere else. An Etna rosé carries the volcanic signature of its soil in a way that's both obvious and fascinating.

Diversity is a strength. Our selection spans several countries, several grape varieties, several styles — from pale and taut to fruity and generous. There's something for every occasion: a terrace aperitif, a Mediterranean lunch, a weekend barbecue, a dinner party.

Our selection: the rosés we chose and why

At Vinodelice, every bottle in our selection was chosen for a specific reason: it has something to say. A singular terroir, a committed producer, a style that stands apart.

🇫🇷 Provence, France — Elegance as a starting point
Provence remains our benchmark. Domaine Sainte Marie and Château d'Estoublon represent two of the most precise and elegant expressions of the appellation. Pale, dry, with that characteristic minerality that makes them essential summer drinking.

🇿🇦 South Africa — Pinotage reinvented
Kanonkop Kadette Rosé is one of our great discoveries. Pinotage, South Africa's signature grape, produces as a rosé a fruity, direct wine with rare generosity and a strong personality. A wine for those who want to be surprised.

🇨🇱 Chile — Freshness from the Andes
Tabali and Viu Manent embody two expressions of Chilean rosé: the first, from high-altitude vines in the Limarí Valley, with remarkable minerality and freshness; the second, a 100% Malbec from Colchagua, fruity and taut, with an elegance that's unexpected from such a powerful grape variety.

How to choose your world rosé

Choosing a rosé depends above all on the moment and the meal. Here are our recommendations:

For an elegant aperitif → Go for a Provence rosé, pale and mineral. Château d'Estoublon or Domaine Sainte Marie are safe bets — and then some.

To pair with grilled meats → South African rosé is the answer. Kanonkop Kadette has the fruit and structure to stand up to a barbecue.

With spiced or Asian cuisine → Chilean rosé, with its natural acidity and freshness, is the ideal companion for bold, flavoured dishes.

To surprise your guests → Serve a rosé they've never heard of. A South African Pinotage or a Chilean Malbec rosé will do the job every time.
