DESCRIPTION
The Story
At the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand, founded in Lannepax over a century ago, perpetuates the art of vintage eaux-de-vie. This 2007 vintage perfectly embodies the elegance of the Gascon terroir: a spirit patiently aged in oak barrels for several decades, where time has chiseled every nuance. Today, the Lhéraud family watches over this living heritage, a symbol of rare and timeless expertise.
The Vinification
Distilled according to the traditional low-proof Armagnac art, this Bas Armagnac has aged slowly in local oak barrels. The clay and iron oxide richness of the Lannepax soils (the sables fauves) contributes to the finesse of the eau-de-vie. This prolonged aging allows the tannins to melt and ensures the development of a complex and balanced aromatic palette.
The Tasting
The Bas Armagnac Baron Gaston Legrand 2007 is a very expressive eau-de-vie. The nose reveals beautiful aromas of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, and ripe fruits. On the palate, the texture is velvety and perfectly balanced, highlighting a pleasant roundness. The finish is distinguished by its length and warmth, unveiling a subtle complexity that invites contemplative tasting. This is an ideal vintage for a connoisseur.
REGION
Gascogne
France
A velvety delight! It is very soft on the palate and the vanilla notes on the nose are really successful. A very beautiful birthday gift.
