DESCRIPTION
Arcana's mission is to preserve a unique heritage, that of the traditional Itata grape varieties, through the most natural winemaking methods focused on the sincerity of the fruit. Behind Arcana is Alberto Barra, a mechanical engineer by profession and a winemaker by passion. His goal is to preserve a heritage of Semillon vines planted 150 years ago. It is a Semillon of great richness, with floral and fruity notes, a good weight on the palate, making it highly gastronomic both for its elegance and complexity.
REGION
Itata Valley
Chile
The Itata Valley, in the Ñuble region of central Chile, is one of the oldest wine areas in the country. In the indigenous Mapuche language, Itata means "abundant pasture". The soils of the different appellations in this alluvial valley are sandy and rich in minerals and volcanic sediment. These natural elements support the traditional grapes of the region, País (red) and Muscat (white). Today you will also find Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot, Sémillon and Tintorera. The Chilean estates of the region craft wines of great quality.
Recommended for you:
A Sémillon surprising for its freshness and minerality. Aromas of candied citrus and white flowers mingle with a subtle hint of honey. The finish is long and elegant. Perfect with oysters.
