History
A vintage over forty years old, the Maury Tuilé Vieille Réserve 1981 embodies the tradition and patience of the Vignerons de Maury. This iconic Roussillon cooperative, founded in 1910, has preserved the expertise of natural sweet wine production. From the black schists of the Agly Valley, this wine showcases the nobility of Grenache, the appellation’s flagship grape, capable of aging with elegance and intensity.
Vinification
Predominantly Grenache Noir, harvested at optimal ripeness. After extended maceration on the skins, mutage with grape spirit stops fermentation to preserve the natural sugars. This is followed by prolonged oxidative aging in old casks, shaping the aromatic complexity and depth characteristic of this aged wine.
Tasting Notes
Deep tawny robe. Elegant nose combining walnut, mocha, and candied fruits. On the palate, generous and balanced: dates, dark chocolate, coffee, and noble rancio unfold with intensity. The persistent finish, with subtle spicy notes, makes it a contemplative wine, ideal with roasted game, aged Comté, or a cocoa dessert.

France
