Domaine la Décelle, 'Le Carré' Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas 2016
DESCRIPTION
The Décelle vineyard was discovered by Benoît and Frédéric Lavau in 2010 in Valréas, which is situated in the heart of the Enclave des papes area, in the south-east of France. The “Le Carré” blend of Syrah and Grenache is planted on south-facing hills and only produces exceptional vintages. The vinification process is quite long - 18 to 24 months. The best barrels are then chosen and assembled to create the “Carré,” which is limited to approximately 3000 bottles.
The bouquet is complex and powerful thanks to roasted coffee and chocolate flavours. The palate is meaty and full and amplified by notes of black fruits, elevated by hints of toast. This wine should be decanted an hour before serving. This wine pairs well with red and white meats, gratin and pasta dishes.
