The Privilège cuvée from Château Maucoil reveals the complex identity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroirs. Made from the 13 grape varieties of the appellation - Grenache (50%), Syrah (15%), Mourvèdre (12%), Cinsault (8%), Clairette, Bourboulenc (5%), Vaccarèse, Muscardin and others - this cuvée expresses a return to the origins of traditional winemaking. The grapes come from a plot of old vines with a yield of around 15 hl/ha, hand-harvested with meticulous berry-by-berry sorting.
On the nose, powerful and highly complex, one discovers sweet spices, ripe fruits, Russian leather and garrigue. On the palate, it is spherical and full-bodied, with weathered tannins and a finish of roasted tonka bean. The whole reveals a beautiful freshness that supports the aromatic intensity.
Serve between 17-18°C. Decanting an hour before serving is recommended so the wine continues to open throughout your meal. Perfect with festive dishes and special occasions: leg of lamb, Provençal stew or aged cheese platter. Aging potential: 10 to 15 years.

France
The Rhône Valley is a historic cradle of French winemaking, stretching from Lyon to Provence and home to over 5,000 estates. In the north, steep hillsides yield intensely expressive Syrahs (Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage) and outstanding whites like Condrieu, made from Viognier. Further south, the diversity of soils—rolled pebbles, sand, and slopes—gives rise to powerful, generous reds (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas) based on Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah. A gastronomic heartland, the region offers endless unforgettable food and wine pairings.
Anne Sarine - Local Nose
