The Story
At the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand, founded in Lannepax over a century ago, perpetuates the art of vintage eaux-de-vie. This 1990 vintage perfectly embodies the elegance of the Gascon terroir: a spirit patiently aged in oak barrels for several decades, where time has chiseled every nuance. Today, the Lhéraud family watches over this living heritage, a symbol of rare and timeless expertise.
The Vinification
Distilled at low proof according to the traditional method, this Bas Armagnac has aged slowly in oak barrels, allowing for subtle micro-oxygenation that softens the tannins and enriches the aromatic profile. The sandy-clay soils, rich in iron oxides, confer upon the 1990 vintage its natural elegance and aromatic depth, where wood and fruit marry harmoniously.
The Tasting
The Bas Armagnac Baron Gaston Legrand 1990 offers a round and generous palate, with a subtle balance between power and softness. The nose opens with notes of walnut, prune, and fern, highlighted by a vanilla and slightly spicy touch. The finish is long, harmonious, and delicately mellowed by time, ideal for contemplative tasting or for a refined gift.

France
Jana - Local Nose
Frankly, by the smell, you feel like you are directly in an old cellar (chai): walnut, prune, and a little vanilla side that immediately makes you want to taste it. Super pleasant and warm, this 1990 lets itself be savoured without rushing.
