History
The 1965 Rivesaltes Ambré is a true witness to time. Aged for over half a century in tanks, large casks, and barrels, it embodies the full tradition of Roussillon’s natural sweet wines. Made from old vines rooted in red and limestone soils, this rare vintage was awarded by the Guide Hachette 2022 (3 stars & Coup de Cœur). Only 1,400 numbered 50 cl bottles were produced.
Vinification
Made from Grenache and Macabeu, this wine follows traditional vinification: destemmed harvest, direct pressing, mutage on the must to halt fermentation, followed by long aging in a combination of concrete tanks, large casks, and barrels. Bottled in 2020, it offers exceptional aromatic complexity shaped by over 55 years of patience.
Tasting Notes
Its amber color with orange highlights precedes a complex nose of dried fruits, vanilla, coffee, rancio, and blond tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and fresh, revealing notes of dried fig, candied kumquat, and mild spices, with a long and persistent finish. A contemplative wine, perfect with foie gras, aged cheeses, or a coffee-flavored dessert.

France

More than half a century of aging has created a unique wine—its candied kumquat aromas and exceptional length make it a true collector’s gem.
