MMAD Vineyard Shiraz 2022 is the Shiraz from the debut harvest of the MMAD team (Martin Shaw, Michael Hill-Smith MW, Adam Wadewitz, David Le Mire MW), benefiting from an exceptional season. The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully fermented to preserve their quality. This Shiraz offers an intense concentration from Blewitt Springs old vines on the ironstone sandy soils of McLaren Vale. Aged in used French oak casks. It features 13.5% ABV and 5.3 g/L total acidity. Aging potential of 15 years.
On the nose, blackberry, blueberry, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. On the palate, generous, layered, and complex, with well-structured tannins and savory notes. Pairs well with a beef bourguignon or a lasagna alla bolognese.

Shiraz leads the region's list of award-winning wines, making McLaren Vale a favorite location to grow this grape. Cabernet Sauvignon is another prominent grape variety, along with Grenache and Mourvedre which, together with Shiraz, make up some of the most acclaimed GSM blends here. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc dominate McLaren Vale's white grape varieties, with a plethora of other regional and international specialties such as Merlot, Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Viognier also making their mark.
