Shaw + Smith Lenswood Vineyard Chardonnay 2022 comes from a single vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, planted in 2001 at an altitude of 500 meters on east-facing clay-loam and schist soils. Following manual harvesting, the grapes are gently whole-bunch pressed, fermented in 500L puncheons (30% new), and aged for 10 months before resting in tank. It features 13% alcohol and 5.7 g/L total acidity. Cellaring potential of 20 years.
On the nose, it reveals notes of nectarine, crystalline lemon, and white flowers. On the palate, it offers a rich and silky texture, combining freshness, balanced acidity, and complexity, with delicate layers of ripe fruit and minerality. Pairs beautifully with a creamy mushroom risotto or pan-seared scallops.
