The Story
From the Lannepax terroir, the historical cradle of Armagnac, the Baron Gaston Legrand 1986 vintage embodies the timeless nobility of the Ténarèze region. Patiently aged in oak barrels, this Cask Strength (Brut de Fût) testifies to the ancestral expertise of the house founded over a century ago, now under the aegis of Maison Cognac Lhéraud.
The Vinification
Distilled according to traditional Armagnac methods, this Armagnac has matured for nearly forty years in oak barrels. Ténarèze, with its clay-limestone soils, has allowed this eau-de-vie (spirit) to develop a solid and powerful structure. The Cask Strength (Brut de Fût) aging reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity, enhancing the natural richness of the vintage.
The Tasting
The Ténarèze Armagnac 1986 Cask Strength (Brut de Fût) reveals a beautiful complexity acquired over the years. Its nose is powerful, blending intense notes of spice butter and dried fruits. On the palate, the attack is direct and balanced, supported by rich and elegant tannins. Harmonious and aromatic, it retains remarkable freshness for its age and concludes with a long, spicy, and refined finish, typical of Ténarèze.

France
William - Local Nose
A very fine Armagnac, even as Cask Strength (Brut de Fût). I love the balance between dried fruits and spices on the finish. An excellent choice for a connoisseur of spirits with character.
