The Vinification
Distilled at a low proof according to the traditional method, this Bas Armagnac has aged slowly in Gascon oak barrels, whose natural porosity ensures subtle micro-oxygenation. The sandy-clay soils, rich in iron oxides and known as sables fauves (tawny sands), impart finesse and structure to the eau-de-vie. With over fifty years of aging, this 1964 vintage illustrates the perfect balance between aromatic complexity, power, and elegance.

La Gascogne, territoire historique du sud-ouest de la France s'étendant sur le Gers, les Landes et le Lot-et-Garonne, est le berceau de l'Armagnac, la plus ancienne eau-de-vie de France. L'Armagnac se décline en trois zones d'appellation distinctes : le Bas-Armagnac, reconnu comme le plus noble des crus avec ses sols sablo-argileux (sables fauves) qui confèrent finesse et élégance ; la Ténarèze, dont les sols argilo-calcaires produisent des armagnacs puissants et structurés ; et le Haut-Armagnac, aux sols argilo-calcaires plus durs.
