DESCRIPTION
This limited-release Chardonnay does not grown on trees (or on the vines in this case). It is matured for six-and-a-half years and inspired by the 'sous voile' methods of France's Jura and Burgundy regions, whereby fresh white wine is periodically fed to the filled barrels. The bouquet is bustling with notes of honey, toffee apple and whiskey. Meanwhile, the palate's foundation is layered with the trademark citrus flavours of this variety, but packs a yummy punch of smoke, curry leaf, sea salt, and grilled nuts to boot. Rich and focused, this Chardonnay finishes up with a tight, clean finish.

The McLaren Vale wine region, located just south of Adelaide, is very highly regarded throughout both Australia and the world. Shiraz leads the region's list of award-winning wines, making McLaren Vale a favorite location to grow this grape. Cabernet Sauvignon is another prominent grape variety, along with Grenache and Mourvedre which, together with Shiraz, make up some of the most acclaimed GSM blends here. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc dominate McLaren Vale's white grape varieties, with a plethora of other regional and international specialties such as Merlot, Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Viognier also making their mark.
