The Story
Since 1810, Maison Lhéraud has embodied the art of vintage cognac with rare demanding standards. Located in Angeac, between Grande and Petite Champagne, it crafts spirits faithful to their terroir, distilled in a Charentais still and aged slowly in Limousin oak barrels. This 1979 vintage, sourced exclusively from the Petite Champagne cru, illustrates the Lhéraud style in all its nobility: balance, finesse, and depth.
The Vinification
Distilled in 1979, this cognac has benefited from prolonged aging in oak barrels, promoting natural micro-oxygenation and the full development of aromas. Notes of prune, blond tobacco, precious wood, and spiced butter blend with touches of nut and candied orange peel, offering a supple and velvety texture. The Petite Champagne terroir guarantees finesse and aging potential, while preserving the cru's typical aromatic expression.
The Tasting
Amber in color, the Lhéraud Petite Champagne Cognac 1979 reveals a complex and harmonious bouquet. On the palate, the balance and aromatic power combine with a long, subtly spiced finish, where the noble rancio and a remarkable freshness for its age are expressed. A great vintage to be savored slowly, a symbol of the refined expertise of Maison Lhéraud.
REGION
Nouvelle Aquitaine
France
