Perched atop the hills of Chénas, this 2018 Moulin-à-Vent is a superb expression of the Gamay grape variety. The vines are cultivated without chemical products, with a commitment to respecting the environment and terroir.
With a brilliant purple color, the wine captivates with its elegant aromas of cherry eau-de-vie, enhanced by spicy touches and slight notes of licorice. Situated just south of Burgundy, Beaujolais is a wine-growing region with a semi-continental climate conducive to the production of fresh, fruity, brilliant red wines. Un Moulin-à-Vent digne de son nom ! Cette cuvée 2018 de Duboeuf dévoile des arômes de fruits noirs, de violette, et une touche légèrement boisée. La bouche est puissante, les tanins bien présents mais élégants. Un vin de garde à prix très raisonnable.
Bouteille ouverte un midi avec un rôti de veau. Un vin très agréable, assez structuré pour un Beaujolais. On l’a bu un peu frais, c’était parfait. J’en ai commandé 6 bouteilles après coup.
C'est un très bon Moulin-à-Vent. Parfumé et élégant.
Je recommande vivement cette cuvée. C’était un accompagnement parfait avec un bœuf bourguignon.
Le 2018 est un millésime qui offre déjà un bon équilibre entre fruit et maturité, mais ce vin peut se conserver encore quelques années (5 à 10 ans) pour gagner en complexité.
This 2018 vintage has developed lovely secondary aromas of forest floor, dried herbs, and subtle leather, while retaining vibrant red fruit freshness. Smooth and layered, it’s a refined wine that rewards patience.
The 2018 Moulin-à-Vent Cuvée Tradition really impressed me. It opens with aromas of black cherry, violets, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with silky tannins and notes of dark berries, licorice, and a touch of earth. Paired it with roast duck and the combination was superb. Great structure and finish.

I love its almost Burgundian character, with fine tannins and slightly spicy dark fruit. A beautiful wine for aging.
