Hewitson is not your average winemaker. Dean Hewitson, aka the ‘Mad Hatter,’ makes extraordinary wine, some from extraordinarily old vines that date back to 1853 (P.P. - pre-phylloxera). Lulu is a sauvignon blanc harvested from high, cool slopes in the Adelaide Hills. This wine is a burst of sweet, crisp flavour. The bouquet is brimming with notes of melon, pear, citrus and hints of fresh grass, tropical and blackcurrant leaf. On the palate, Lulu is slightly acidic, but mostly just fresh, mineral and soft.

Although less well known than Mendoza, San Juan stands out among Argentina's great vineyards. Located in the west of the country, at the foot of the Andes, this region enjoys a desert climate ideal for viticulture. The winemakers of San Juan produce wines of great personality, with Syrah as the flagship grape variety, giving intense, spicy reds. Excellent Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are also found here, reflecting the arid, sun-drenched terroir. Thanks to the altitude and temperature variations, the grapes develop good concentration and fresh acidity, making for well-balanced, long-keeping wines. Internationally acclaimed, San Juan wines seduce with their unique character.
