DESCRIPTION
Sourced from the terroirs of the Orschwiller plain (Route Romaine sector), this Crémant embodies the freshness and spontaneity of the Engel style. Certified Organic Agriculture (AB), it is crafted from a perfectly equal blend of Pinot Blanc (50%) and Pinot Gris (50%). This marriage offers the ideal balance between the fruity suppleness of the former and the fleshy structure of the latter.
Vinified according to the traditional method, this wine benefits from aging for 18 months on laths. This duration, superior to the legal minimum, allows the bubbles to be refined while preserving the primary brilliance of the aromas. With a very low sugar dosage (2.5 g/l), this "Extra-Brut" Crémant plays the purity card: it does not cheat and delivers an authentic and thirst-quenching expression of the grape.
Upon tasting, it distinguishes itself by a light yellow color with bright reflections. The nose is an explosion of fresh fruits, dominated by crisp apple, pear, and nuances of white flowers. On the palate, the attack is frank and dynamic. The texture is carried by fine effervescence and a lemony acidity that cleanses the palate.
REGION
Alsace
France
Alsace is a wine region with strong Franco-Germanic influences located in the North-East of France. It is distinguished from other French regions by its significant production of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, often associated with German wines. If you are a white wine enthusiast, it is very likely that you have tasted wines from Alsace; the Alsatian vineyard is the largest producer of white wines, due to its dry climate, but global warming signals a greater production of Pinot Noir in the region.
