History
The sunny and generous 1990 vintage produced a powerful and concentrated Maury, symbolic of Mediterranean intensity.
Vinification
Traditional fortification and prolonged oxidative aging, developing a dense aromatic palette typical of rancio.
Tasting notes
Deep mahogany color. Intense nose of dates, dark chocolate, mocha, and blond tobacco. Dense, rich, and smooth on the palate, carried by an unexpected freshness. Long finish with notes of walnut and vanilla. Enjoy with a chocolate-caramel dessert or aged Comté cheese."
France
In the heart of Roussillon, the Maury appellation spreads over black schist slopes that hold the heat of the sun and give Grenache Noir its ideal terroir. Alongside this leading grape, Grenache Gris and Grenache Blanc complete the mix. This mineral, luminous setting gives powerful, expressive vins doux naturels, mostly red, but also amber or tawny. Maury comes in several styles. Maury Grenat (or young Maury) shows generous fruit, with intense notes of cherry and blackberry. Maury Traditionnel and Vieux Maury are aged oxidatively, revealing aromas of cocoa, fig, coffee and elegant rancio. Old vintages, sometimes kept for decades in cask, are especially sought after: they combine depth, complexity and an astonishing freshness that defies time.

Thirty-five years of traditional aging reveal the essence of this Vieille Réserve—a Maury that perfectly blends the richness of Grenache Noir with the complexity of time.
