Seghesio Family Vineyards Cortina Zinfandel 2019 is sourced from 50-year-old vines, a pure expression of the Dry Creek Valley terroir. Aged for 15 months in oak barrels, of which 15% are new and 85% are used French and American oak barrels. pH 3.81, total acidity 5.7 g/L. This structured and balanced wine reflects the authentic expression of the valley's terroir with beautiful freshness and a silky texture. Seghesio Family Vineyards, founded in 1895 by Edoardo Seghesio, a Piedmontese immigrant, is a symbol of Californian winemaking excellence. With 160 hectares of vines spread across Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, and Dry Creek Valley, the estate has built its reputation around Zinfandel, thanks to historic plots planted over 90 years ago. Across four generations, the Seghesio family combines tradition and innovation, celebrating the art of living at the crossroads of gastronomy and conviviality.
On the nose, aromas of dried sage, blackberry pie, and dark chocolate cherry. On the palate, a symphony of rich and indulgent flavors mingles with velvety, juicy tannins, leading to a long, harmonious, and balanced finish. It pairs perfectly with honey and spicy mustard glazed pork ribs or a blue cheese, fig, and toasted pecan pizza. Cellaring potential of 10 years and more.
United States
Sonoma Valley is an American wine region often recognized as the cradle of California viticulture. The valley is the driest part of Sonoma County due to the shelter provided by the mountains. The region is considered the source of Northern California's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that benefit from the warm, sunny climate.
