The Story
Founded over a century ago in Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand embodies the noblest soul of Gascony. This 1936 vintage, hand-distilled and aged for nearly a century in oak barrels, bears witness to an unaltered expertise. Since 1998, the Lhéraud family has perpetuated this rare heritage, safeguarding a collection of historic vintages that make every bottle a true piece of history.
The Vinification
Distilled according to the traditional low-proof method, this 1936 vintage benefited from long aging in carefully selected Gascon oak barrels. The progressive micro-oxygenation allowed by the wood promotes the harmonious maturation of the eau-de-vie, developing complexity and finesse. The wood contributes its characteristic notes of vanilla and sweet spices, while the careful control of the barrels guarantees balance and aromatic purity, sublimating the fruit and natural freshness of this vintage.
The Tasting
The Vieil Armagnac 1936 stands out with its luminous amber color and a bright nose of mandarin and citrus. The palate is delicate, with a refined slight bitterness and subtle freshness that structures the whole. Nuances of honey and candied fruits complete the experience, offering roundness and balance. The finish is persistent and elegant, revealing a perfect harmony between fruit, wood, and aromatic subtlety. This vintage embodies the quintessence of Bas-Armagnac, celebrating the French art de vivre and the richness of its terroir.

France
