The Story
Founded over a century ago in Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Maison Baron Gaston Legrand embodies the noblest soul of Gascony. This 1941 vintage, hand-distilled and aged for nearly a century in oak barrels, bears witness to an unaltered expertise. Since 1998, the Lhéraud family has perpetuated this rare heritage, safeguarding a collection of historic vintages that make every bottle a true piece of history.
The Vinification
The 1941 vintage is made from carefully selected grape varieties: Ugni Blanc for finesse, Folle Blanche for floral and fruity notes, and Baco Blanc for classic prune touches. Distilled only once in a traditional still, it benefits from prolonged aging in Limousin and Monlezun oak barrels. This ancestral method favors progressive micro-oxygenation, enriching the aromas and softening the tannins, while developing woody and vanilla nuances. The result is an eau-de-vie of exceptional aromatic complexity and roundness, faithful to the Bas-Armagnac tradition.
The Tasting
This Vieil Armagnac presents an intense and luminous amber color. The nose opens with floral and fruity aromas, supported by touches of prune and honey. On the palate, the Armagnac reveals itself to be harmonious and structured, with a silky texture and remarkable aromatic richness. The finish is long and elegant, emphasizing the perfect balance between finesse and power, offering a unique and unforgettable tasting experience.

France
