Picture Malbec, powerful, full-bodied, the backbone of Chile's great reds. Now picture it vinified as a rosé: directly pressed, fermented slowly in stainless steel, aged on fine lees for texture and balance. The result is unexpected, and quietly irresistible.
The San Carlos estate vines grow in the heart of Colchagua Valley on alluvial and clay-sandy soils, shaped by the Andes and the Pacific. The 2023 vintage brought concentration without sacrificing freshness, a difficult balance, perfectly achieved.
In the glass: citrus, white flowers, freshly cut strawberry. On the palate, a lively acidity gives immediate tension and length. The finish is clean with no heaviness whatsoever.
Viu Manent has been a family estate since 1935, certified vegan, ranked seven consecutive years among the World's Best Vineyards and one of our personal favourites at Vinodelice.
Chili
The Colchagua Valley, in central Chile, is one of the most promising wine regions in South America. Some of Chile's most prestigious wines come from the Colchagua Valley: Casa Lapostolle's "Clos Apalta", Montes' "Folly" Syrah and Vina Casa Silva's "Altura" are obvious examples. And if there were still any doubts about the valley's reputation, both in Chile and abroad, the presence of the Los Vascos winery in Peralillo, a joint venture between Santa Rita and the Rothschilds of Bordeaux, allows to dispel them.

Jana - Local Nose
If you've never tried Malbec as a rosé, this one will catch you off guard. It has the grape's generous fruit without any of the weight. Serve it well chilled, at the table or before dinner.
