Viu Manent Viu 8 Cuvée Infinito 2018 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (82%), Malbec (14%), and Cabernet Franc (4%), a portion of which comes from vines over 100 years old. The 2018 vintage, cooler than normal, allowed for slow ripening and a beautiful natural balance. Aged for 14 months in French oak, of which 48% is new, completed by untoasted foudres. Bottled without filtration to preserve its concentration and character. Viu Manent is a family-owned house founded in 1935, renowned for its wines from the Colchagua Valley. The acquisition of its three vineyards in Colchagua in 1960, including San Carlos de Cunaco, the cradle of centenarian Malbec vines, forged the estate's identity. Today managed by the third generation and certified vegan, Viu Manent has been ranked among the World's Best Vineyards for seven consecutive years.
On the nose, an elegant and perfumed bouquet focused on aromas of red fruits, violet, black and white pepper, complemented by sweet spice notes. On the palate, vibrant and balanced, driven by very fine tannins, with a deep, precise, and persistent finish. It pairs well with a beef Wellington or a roasted rack of lamb with garlic confit and rosemary. Aging potential of 10 years and more.
Chili
The Central Valley of Chile is the wine region in South America with the largest volume of wine production. A wide variety of wine styles and qualities can be found in this vast region, from many different terroirs. These range from the fashionable Bordeaux-style wines produced in the northern Maipo, to the older and more established vineyards of Maule; from the coastal plains of western Colchagua to the Andean foothills of Puente Alto.
Nicolas - Local Nose
