Yering Station Village Pinot Noir 2024 comes from the vineyards of Yering Station, the first vine planted in 1838 in the state of Victoria. MV6 and D5V12 clones aged 15 to 25 years, on duplex grey loam over yellow clay soils, VSP trained. The harvest is manual. Fermentation with selected yeasts in open vats with 10 days of skin contact. Aging in French oak barrels (new to 8 years old), 100% malolactic fermentation, 10 months of maturation.
On the nose, delicate and expressive aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, rose petals, and spices. On the palate, light-bodied, with fine tannins and a crisp acidity, notes of cherry, cola, and cranberry. Fresh and vibrant. Pairs with poultry or mushroom-based dishes.
Australia
Victoria is Australia's second smallest state, but home to more regions and vineyards than any other state in the country. It also boasts the greatest diversity of regional climates and sites, making it possible to produce virtually every style of wine imaginable, from fine sparkling wines, high-quality Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs to long-keeping Cabernets and flavorful Shiraz.
Anne Sarine - Local perfumer
An expressive and fruity Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, featuring that signature freshness of Yering Station.
