Bodega Noemia Malbec 2020 comes from a single 1.5-hectare parcel planted in 1932, certified organic (Ecocert) and cultivated biodynamically. The 2020 vintage was marked by a cool spring and a beautiful flowering, followed by heatwaves in January, leading to an earlier harvest than usual to maintain balance. Vinified with indigenous yeasts, aged in demi-muids and stainless steel, then for 12 months in 600L French oak foudres and 8 months in 225L barrels. Bodega Noemia, located in the Río Negro Valley of Patagonia, was founded by Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano and winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers, with a first vintage in 2001. With the estate acquired in 2004, their methods respect nature: manual harvesting, meticulous sorting, and spontaneous fermentation. Organic certification by Ecocert, biodynamic practices.
On the nose, deep and elegant, with notes of black fruits, fresh plum, violet, sweet spices, and a mineral touch. On the palate, rich with fine tannins and a silky texture; the long finish reveals a beautiful energy blending depth, tension, and elegance. It pairs well with a beef filet with morels or a dry-aged beef filet. Aging potential of 20 years and more.
Argentina
Between 38° and 45° south latitude, Patagonia is among the world's southernmost vineyards. Cool climate, constant winds and alluvial soils, sometimes calcareous, produce wines of remarkable natural purity and acidity. Under the Patagonia Argentina appellation, three zones stand out: Río Negro for its elegant wines, Neuquén for their power, and Chubut, the southernmost, for their aromatic freshness. Malbec, the king grape variety, offers a fresher and more elegant style there than in the rest of the country, alongside Pinot Noir, Merlot and crystalline whites.
Katja - Local Nose
