Greywacke Pinot Noir 2022 is crafted by Kevin Judd from Burgundian clones grown in the Southern Valleys of Marlborough. Aged in oak barrels, it captivates with its silky texture, aromatic complexity, and beautiful length on the palate.
The nose presents ripe red fruits and rose petals, with a characteristic smoky touch. The palate is savory and balanced, carried by silky tannins and an elegant finish. Aging potential of 8 to 10 years. Recommended pairing with roasted duck breast with black cherries or wild mushroom ravioli with Pinot Noir.
New Zealand
Marlborough is by far New Zealand’s most important wine region. Located at the northeastern tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region is home to over 500 wineries and produces nearly 75% of New Zealand’s wine. Warm days, cool nights, and well-drained alluvial soils create ideal conditions for aromatic wines with crisp acidity.
It is here that the Marlborough style of Sauvignon Blanc was born, a style that has taken the world by storm: vibrant, intensely fruity, with herbal notes and a saline minerality. While Sauvignon Blanc dominates, Marlborough also produces excellent Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling, cementing its reputation as New Zealand’s international wine showcase.
William - Local Nose
A Pinot of beautiful precision, with its ripe red fruits, rose, and a subtle smoky touch. The palate is silky and the finish is well-sustained. A great wine.
