Nanny Goat Vineyard is the brainchild (or vinechild, if you will) of winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald, the Pinot Noir specialist. The name hails from the wild goats that roam the mountainous region of Central Otago, which is the most southerly wine region in the world and on New Zealand’s South Island. This Pinot Noir is mouth-wateringly aromatic. Its earthiness is highlighted by notes of red and black berries, toasted cooking spices, and lifted floral notes. Lest we forget the palate, which moonlights as a coffee shop with its roasted beans, sweet baking spices, cherries and plums. This pinot packs a final punch with its fine, powdery tannins, acidic streak, and long finish. A mushroom risotto, lasagna or a hearty steak are all that’s missing.

Central Otago, in the heart of New Zealand's South Island, competes for the title of southernmost wine region in the world. Between snowy mountains, sparkling rivers and sheltered valleys, its spectacular vineyards cling to the slopes as if suspended in a natural amphitheatre.
Here Pinot Noir reigns supreme, covering nearly three quarters of the vineyard. It shows a sunny, precise style, with intense aromas of dark plum, sweet spice and bramble, and a depth of colour and structure that bring it close to the great terroirs of Burgundy. Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris complete the picture, bringing freshness and elegance to this extraordinary region.
