Cognac Lheraud Fins Bois 1970

🇫🇷 Fins Bois | Nouvelle Aquitaine  | France

The Story

Since 1810, Maison Lhéraud has crafted vintage cognacs of rare finesse, faithful to the Charentais tradition. Established in Angeac, in the heart of the Fins Bois, it perpetuates ancestral expertise passed down from generation to generation. This 1970 vintage, sourced from the Fins Bois cru, testifies to a masterful balance between aromatic richness and elegance, the fruit of half a century of patience and mastery.

The Vinification

Distilled in 1970, this cognac has aged naturally in Limousin oak barrels, with no additives or reduction. The Fins Bois terroir, composed of clay-limestone soils and influenced by the oceanic climate, offers spirits that are round and fruity. Thanks to the micro-oxygenation from the wood, this cognac develops complex notes of vanilla, hazelnut, and sweet spices, while retaining a beautiful structure and a velvety texture.

The Tasting

On the nose, a bouquet of great complexity: dried fruits, honey, caramel, and delicate wood. On the palate, the substance is ample and silky, supported by elegant tannins and a long, warm finish. The Lhéraud Fins Bois Cognac 1970 embodies the quintessence of time and terroir: a meditation cognac, to be savored slowly, for the pure pleasure of depth.
