From old vines planted facing due south in Davayé, this 2021 Saint-Véran "Au Clos" is a characterful cuvée from Domaine Saint-Martin, in a long-standing partnership with Georges Duboeuf. The average age of the vines, around 70 years, and a perfectly exposed terroir explain the rare intensity of this Southern Burgundy Chardonnay.
Visually, its golden robe shines with a thousand reflections. On the nose, aromas of white flowers, fresh butter, and candied fruits announce a generous and complex wine. On the palate, the texture is ample and unctuous, with beautiful richness and a long, flavorful finish. Pair with fish in sauce, creamy poultry, or mushroom risotto.
