🇫🇷 Petite Champagne | Nouvelle Aquitaine  | France

The Story

Since 1810, Maison Lhéraud has embodied the art of vintage cognac with rare demanding standards. Located in Angeac, between Grande and Petite Champagne, it crafts spirits faithful to their terroir, distilled in a Charentais still and aged slowly in Limousin oak barrels. This 1972 vintage, sourced exclusively from the Petite Champagne cru, illustrates the Lhéraud style in all its nobility: balance, finesse, and depth.

The Vinification

Distilled in 1972, this cognac has benefited from prolonged aging in oak barrels, allowing for natural micro-oxygenation and the development of complex aromas. Notes of dried fruits, noble rancio, blond tobacco, and leather combine with touches of prune, vanilla, and sweet spices, revealing an ample, silky, and delicate texture. The Petite Champagne, slightly less chalky than Grande Champagne, brings finesse and elegance while promoting optimal aging.

The Tasting

The amber color reveals a refined aromatic bouquet. On the palate, the substance is powerful and balanced, with a long and persistent finish enriched with floral and woody touches. Lhéraud Petite Champagne Cognac 1972 offers a complex and refined tasting experience, ideal for savoring slowly, a symbol of the excellence and heritage of the Lhéraud vintages.
