Born in the unspoiled Waihopai Valley at the heart of Marlborough, Catalina Sounds’ 2022 Chardonnay showcases the finesse of the grape in its New Zealand expression. Harvested at dawn to preserve freshness, the grapes are gently pressed before fermentation in large oak vats and barrels. Aged 10 months on fine lees, it develops enhanced texture and aromatic complexity.
The nose delights with dessert spice notes, roasted almonds, and fresh pear, lifted by a subtle buttery touch. On the palate, silky roundness balances elegant minerality, leading to a long, refined finish.
Awarded 92 points by Cameron Douglas and 4/5 on Vivino, this Marlborough Chardonnay pairs beautifully with seafood, hard cheeses, or a fresh summer salad.
