DESCRIPTION
For over a century now, the Rosso family has been tending to its own vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba, one of the best Barolo areas in Italy. This particular wine has sharp, floral notes with hints of star anise and raspberry. On the palate, it is fine and elegant, with neat tannins and a long finish. A wine to pair with roasts, a charcuterie board or pasta with truffles.
REGION
Piedmont
Italy
Piedmont is best known for its red wines made from Nebbiolo and Barbera. Not only is Nebbiolo one of the most planted varieties in Piedmont, but it is also the mainstay of the region's premium wines. Barbaresco and Barolo, which are two of the region's best red wines, are both made from Nebbiolo. Both are light in color, but offer very different experiences. On the palate, the Barolo offers a fuller, richer mouthfeel and is considered more serious. The Barbaresco, on the other hand, is slightly sharper and younger.
