Hewitson is not your average winemaker. Dean Hewitson, aka the ‘Mad Hatter,’ makes extraordinary wine, some from extraordinarily old vines that date back to 1853 (P.P. - pre-phylloxera). This Riesling is grown in Eden Valley, a well-known area in Australia for this variety. The Gun Metal does not need to pull out the big guns, it speaks for itself. This wine boasts a lovely dry minerality, but it’s the lime that gives it its kick. The Gun Metal is the perfect partner for a branzino, salmon, or sauerkraut.
