This Vincent Girardin Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots 2018 embodies all the finesse of a fleshy and distinguished Pinot Noir, from an emblematic climat located near the famous Clos des Mouches. The name "Les Aigrots" reportedly comes from the Burgundian word for holly, which was once present on these lands. The terroir, consisting of clay-limestone soils on marl, benefits from a gentle and regular exposure, offering optimal grape ripening. The result is wines that are deep, elegant, and mineral, fully expressing the identity of their cru. Aged for 15 months in oak barrels, then blended in vats before bottling, this wine is not fined and only slightly filtered to preserve all its natural richness. The nose opens with notes of crunchy black fruits, ripe cherry, and subtle spicy touches. The palate is full, silky, supported by beautiful freshness and a long aromatic persistence. A wine of character and balance, to be enjoyed with a grilled ribeye steak, porcini mushroom risotto, osso buco, or mushroom pasta.
France
Burgundy, located in eastern France, is one of the world's most emblematic wine-growing regions, renowned for its elegant, fine and complex wines. Its semi-continental climate, marked by contrasting seasons, and its mineral-rich clay-limestone soils provide an exceptional terroir for its two king grape varieties: Pinot Noir for reds, and Chardonnay for whites. Alongside them, more discreet varieties such as Gamay and Aligoté complete the vineyard's diversity.
The vineyard stretches from the Chablisien in the north, known for its taut, mineral whites, to the Mâconnais in the south, offering accessible, gourmet cuvées. In between, the Côte de Nuits is the realm of great reds, while the Côte de Beaune excels in both reds and whites. The Côtes Chalonnaises complete the picture with wines offering excellent value for money.
En bouche, il est à la fois frais et juteux, offrant une belle vivacité, mais avec des tanins soyeux qui lui confèrent de l’élégance. La texture est fine et la longueur en bouche agréable, avec une belle persistance des fruits.
Les Aigrots 2018 offers vibrant red cherry, forest floor, and fine tannins. Mineral backbone and gentle oak integration elevate its Premier Cru pedigree.
Silky and perfumed with wild strawberry, rose petal, and subtle spice. The 2018 vintage lends warmth, while Girardin's precision keeps it fresh and elegant.

Lovely maturity, with a silky and deep mouthfeel. A classic Burgundy but with real personality.
