A true rare gem of Beaujolais, this 2013 Secret de Chardonnay from Château du Chatelard comes exclusively from the clay-limestone terroirs of the Chatelard hill. This exceptional cuvée, limited to only 6,000 bottles, expresses with finesse and elegance all the typicity of Chardonnay grown on these privileged soils.
Its golden yellow color with silver reflections announces a distinguished and refined wine. The nose reveals a rich and complex aromatic palette dominated by notes of ripe fruits and fresh citrus. On the palate, the attack is clean and direct, developing a beautiful finesse accompanied by a persistent aromatic complexity that extends into a rich and long-lasting finish.
This exceptional Beaujolais Blanc, carefully vinified and partially aged (20%) in oak barrels, will flourish perfectly as an aperitif or paired with fine fish, shellfish, or goat cheese. It can be kept for 3 to 5 years to further develop its aromatic palette.
A rare pearl to discover for connoisseurs and lovers of elegant and expressive white wines from the hidden terroirs of Beaujolais.
France
This wine feels like a mini white Burgundy—lovely stone fruit aromas, a hint of floral and citrus, and a creamy texture from the lees aging. You can tell it’s been made with care. Worth every penny!
A beautifully balanced Chardonnay with just the right amount of oak and freshness. Clean, mineral finish and layers of fruit. Tasted more expensive than it was. Good value and great to impress dinner guests.
I usually associate Beaujolais with reds, but this Chardonnay completely surprised me. It’s elegant, crisp, with subtle oak that adds richness without overpowering. Absolutely loved it with grilled chicken. Great value for money for something this refined.
Jerome - Local Nose
A very fresh Chardonnay. Reminds me of some Mâcon wines.
