In the cool, dry Waihopai Valley in Marlborough, Sound of White crafts wines that reflect their terroir with precision and elegance. This New Zealand Pinot Noir is made from hand-harvested grapes picked in two passes, with meticulous sorting. Most of the grapes are destemmed, but 30% are vinified as whole clusters to add aromatic complexity and structure. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in French oak barrels (30% new) to refine texture and depth.
On the palate, it reveals subtle notes of clove, plums, red fruits, and Brazil nuts, supported by silky tannins and refreshing acidity. Perfect with game, aged meats, or a truffle and mushroom risotto, this Marlborough Pinot Noir combines power and finesse.
