Newly promoted to Premier Cru status, this Pouilly-Fuissé Le Clos Reyssier by Georges Duboeuf embodies the elegance and precision of the great Chardonnays from southern Burgundy.
From a high-altitude terroir with limestone soils, this wine reveals a pale gold color with green reflections, brilliant and delicate. The nose is expressive and refined, marked by beautiful chalky minerality, notes of brioche, biscuit, and fresh almond. The attack on the palate is lively and invigorating, followed by a silky, sapid, and saline body, revealing all the finesse of the terroir.
A wine that is simultaneously refined, long, and complex, which will gain even more depth with time. It pairs wonderfully with seafood risotto, oysters, pike quenelles, or aged Comté cheese.
A promising Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru, designed for gastronomy, and to be discovered without delay by lovers of great white Burgundy wines
France
Burgundy, in eastern France, is one of the most iconic wine regions in the world, famous for its elegant, fine and complex wines. Its semi continental climate, with sharply contrasting seasons, and its clay and limestone soils rich in minerals, offer an exceptional terroir for its two leading grapes: Pinot Noir for reds and Chardonnay for whites. Alongside them, lesser known varieties such as Gamay and Aligoté add to the diversity of the vineyard.
The vineyard stretches from Chablis in the north, known for its taut, mineral whites, to the Mâconnais further south, which offers approachable, generous wines. In between, the Côte de Nuits is the kingdom of great reds, while the Côte de Beaune excels in both reds and whites. The Côte Chalonnaise completes the picture with wines that offer great value for pleasure.
Layers of pear, lemon zest, and wet stone on the nose and palate. The wine is focused and precise, with a silky mouthfeel and lingering, bright finish.
This 1er Cru Pouilly-Fuissé offers fresh citrus, green apple, and delicate floral notes, balanced by a mineral-driven finish. Crisp acidity and fine texture make it a standout vintage.
This was my first time trying Le Clos Reyssier, and it blew me away. Clean aromas of pear, citrus peel, and a hint of almond. The oak is perfectly integrated, and the wine finishes long and smooth. Will definitely buy again—great value for a Premier Cru.
Jerome - Local Nose
A chiselled, tense palate with a nice oily texture on the finish. A beautiful expression of the terroir.
