DESCRIPTION
Mount Horrocks Watervale Riesling 2024 is sourced from a vineyard at an altitude of 400m, cultivated using organic and biodynamic agriculture since 2014, in the Clare Valley. The vintage was balanced: a dry start to the year, followed by rain before summer and a dry summer period, allowing for steady ripening. Hand-harvested, gently pressed, and slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature, without oak. It features 12.5% alcohol and 7.5 g/L of total acidity.
On the nose, dominated by yellow lemon, accompanied by white flowers, fresh ginger, and pear. On the palate, straight, taut, and crystalline, driven by a vibrant acidity that highlights the fruit while bringing freshness and energy. Ideal pairing with a scallop carpaccio with lemon or a sea bass ceviche.

The Clare Valley is the northernmost wine region of South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges. Riesling reigns supreme here. The driest styles are recognised as among the best in the world, and the finest examples are seen as benchmarks of quality. The wines are especially famous for the depth of their classic Riesling flavours: exotic citrus, lime blossom and orange blossom, crisp apple with a good dose of minerality, and crisp natural acidity. Clare Valley reds made from Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are also highly regarded.
