Tabali Talinay Chardonnay 2023 comes from the Talinay vineyard, located 12 km from the Pacific Ocean in the coolest zone of the Valle de Limarí, on limestone hillsides of marine origin, a rare geological phenomenon in Chile. The cold coastal breezes and late ripening favor natural tension and aromatic precision. Hand-harvested on February 11 with rigorous sorting, it is aged for 11 months in barrels with daily stirring of the lees (bâtonnage) to enhance texture and complexity. Established in 2002 in Limarí, on the edge of the Atacama Desert, Tabalí is a pioneer of viticulture in this valley. The estate crafts wines that span Chile from east to west within the same valley, from its high-altitude Roca Madre vineyard in the Andes to the coastal Talinay vineyards near the Pacific Ocean. The range is crafted by winemaker Felipe Muller and viticulturist Hector Rojas.
On the nose, a pure and precise expression, marked by notes of fresh citrus, white-fleshed fruits, and a chalky mineral core. On the palate, an ample and creamy attack, supported by a vibrant acidity and a persistent, saline, and elegant finish. It pairs well with pan-seared sea scallops or a roasted sea bass with a lemony beurre blanc. Aging potential of 5 years.
Chili
