Beaumont Hope Marguerite 2022 reflects the fascinating potential of Chenin Blanc grapes grown in the cool regions of Bot River and Walker Bay. Crafted by the family estate under the direction of Sébastien Beaumont, this historic cuvée comes exclusively from heritage plots planted in 1974 and 1978 on shale soils. Its 11-month aging on lees in French oak barrels, 15% of which is new wood, gives it remarkable character and structure.
The aromatic profile reveals notes of ripe white fruits and delicate white flowers, enhanced by subtle touches of citrus, honey, and vanilla. The lively and pure attack evolves into a full and silky texture, perfectly balanced between fruity intensity and woody elegance. The finish lingers long with a distinctive and saline touch, ideal for accompanying fish or shellfish.
South Africa
Located on the southern coast of the Western Cape, Walker Bay is one of South Africa’s coolest and most renowned wine regions. Bathed in sea air and sheltered by surrounding mountains, it enjoys a temperate climate ideal for producing wines of great finesse.
Walker Bay is a paradise for delicate grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay find their balance in the hills of Hemel-en-Aarde (Valley, Ridge, Upper), while Bot River stands out for its saline, vibrant Chenin Blancs. Between brilliant light, varied soils, and a temperate climate, this region produces wines that are elegant, pure, and intensely expressive.
