DESCRIPTION
Vasse Felix Filius Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is a modern Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River, complemented by a touch of Malbec (80.4% CS, 9.6% Malbec), sourced from gravelly and loamy soils. The 2022 vintage, cool and dry with low yields, produced concentrated and precise aromas. The partially destemmed berries underwent whole-berry fermentation with wild yeasts in rotary fermenters, and the wine was then aged for 11 months in seasoned French oak barrels. It features 14% alcohol and 1.1 g/L of residual sugar.
On the nose, aromas of ripe black fruits and subtle spices, underlined by a touch of fine oak. On the palate, a soft and juicy entry brings intense black fruits, fresh acidity, and fine tannins, leading to a lingering finish of cassis and dark chocolate. Pairs beautifully with a lamb tajine or a beef Wellington.
