DESCRIPTION
Nanny Goat Vineyard is the brainchild (or vinechild, if you will) of winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald, the Pinot Noir specialist. The name hails from the wild goats that roam the mountainous region of Central Otago, which is the most southerly wine region in the world and on New Zealandâs South Island. This Pinot Noir is mouth-wateringly aromatic. Its earthiness is highlighted by notes of red and black berries, toasted cooking spices, and lifted floral notes. Lest we forget the palate, which moonlights as a coffee shop with its roasted beans, sweet baking spices, cherries and plums. This pinot packs a final punch with its fine, powdery tannins, acidic streak, and long finish. A mushroom risotto, lasagna or a hearty steak are all thatâs missing.

Here, Pinot Noir reigns supreme, covering nearly three-quarters of the vineyard area. It expresses itself in a radiant, precise style, with intense aromas of doris plum, sweet spices, and bramble, with depth of color and structure that place it alongside Burgundyâs greatest terroirs.
