Beeslaar Pinotage 2021 is a Pinotage from Simonsberg (Stellenbosch), sourced from a 2.5-hectare vineyard at an altitude of 200m, featuring 30-year-old bush vines grown on shale soils. Aged for 20 months in 225L French oak barrels (50% new), it displays 14.5% alcohol and 2.4 g/L of residual sugar. Created by Abrie Beeslaar, the former cellarmaster of Kanonkop.
On the nose, delicious notes of red and black fruits, supported by nuances of oak spices and tobacco leaf. On the palate, voluptuous and powerful with an elegant and long finish. Ideal with a grilled duck breast or a beef tenderloin.
South Africa
Stellenbosch is undoubtedly South Africa’s most prestigious wine region. Located in the coastal region of the Western Cape, east of Cape Town, it enjoys a Mediterranean climate tempered by sea breezes and sheltered by surrounding mountains. Its varied terroir – granite, shale, and sandy soils – allows for the production of both powerful red wines and elegant whites.
While Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends (with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot) have built its reputation, Stellenbosch is also renowned for its refined Chenin Blancs, distinctive Chardonnays, and expressive Syrahs. Home to many iconic estates, this appellation remains a showcase of South African winemaking expertise.

A Pinotage just the way we like them: no heaviness, just depth, fruitiness, and a beautiful length.
