Argentina
The Argentine region of Jujuy is located in the most northern part of the country. In fact, the highest vineyards in the world are found in Uquía, a town in the province of Jujuy. These vines can be found 3 329 metres above sea level. This wine region is quite small compared to others in the area and exports far less. This is too bad, considering how structured and rich these wines are. The most cultivated grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot. These grapes deliver fragrant aromas of pepper and blackcurrant. And as they mature, notes of spice and undergrowth are revealed.
Grown in La Pampa’s arid climate, this Cab Franc impresses with its lifted herbal aromatics, graphite minerality, and a clean, dry finish. Balanced and expressive, it’s a great example of Argentina’s rising potential beyond Malbec.
The 2019 Cabernet Franc from Bodega del Desierto shows vibrant redcurrant, blackberry, and bell pepper notes, wrapped in fine tannins and a hint of spice. Silky and structured, it reflects the cool desert climate beautifully.
This wine is smooth and fruity—ripe plum and cherry dance through the palate, framed by gentle cedar spice. A solid glass after a busy day. Great value for money and pairs effortlessly with grilled sausages or a simple cheese plate.
Jerome - Local Nose
A Cabernet Franc that plays the freshness card. With notes of red bell pepper and aromatic herbs, it's perfect with grilled meat.
