Bouchon Family Wines Granito Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenère 2019 comes from ancient granitic and clay soils in Maule, blending 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Carmenère. Aged for 18 months in foudres and 12 months in the bottle. An exceptional wine crafted to elevate precious moments, which reveals its full depth and complexity after an hour of decanting. The Bouchon saga began in 1887 with the arrival of Émile Bouchon in Chile. The family, established in the Colchagua region and later in the Maule region in 1977, perpetuates this history by breathing new life into old Maule grape varieties, such as País, rehabilitating centuries-old winemaking techniques, and paying close attention to the terroir. With three vineyards in Maule, the Bouchons adopt an organic approach, creating singular wines from vines grown without irrigation on ancient granitic soils.
On the nose, red fruits, pepper, and graphite. On the palate, a verticality and grainy tannins that express themselves with elegance, leading to a persistent finish. It pairs well with a grilled ribeye steak or a hare stew. Serve between 16 and 18°C. Aging potential of 10 years and more.
